Starting Position: Stand upright and hold a barbell with arms less than shoulder width apart. Use an overhand grip. Arms should be extended down.

Performing the Exercise: Slowly lift the weight up by moving your hands close to chin level while keeping the bar close to your body. Slowly return the bar to the starting position.

Tips

  • Keep your back straight and look forward
  • Make sure you lift it all the way up
  • Pause at the top of the lift
