Healthy Fat Oils
While the main objective of bodybuilding is generally to reduce body fat and increase lean muscle, the fact of the matter is that the body cannot exist in good health without the incorporation of certain healthy fat oils into either the diet or your supplement stack. There are several sources for healthy fat oils (EFA’s or Essential Fatty Acids), such as flaxseed and fish oils. These types of “good” or healthy fat oils are necessary, and they are utilized by the body to combat the effects of the unhealthy fats that most of us consume every day. These healthy fat oils do their job, in part, by transporting bad fats (including cholesterol) to the liver to be broken down and excreted
There are numerous ways to incorporate these healthy fat oils into your life, whether you choose to modify your diet or incorporate an additional supplement into your stack. If you do choose to get your healthy fat oils from your diet, they can be found in foods such as nuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Additionally, they can be found in dark green leafy veggies (such as spinach) and various types of fish such as tuna, sardines and salmon.
One thing to beware of, however, when counting on diet alone to provide you with adequate levels of healthy fat oils is that in many cases, cooking will destroy omega-3 fatty acids, rendering them useless.
This is why so many people choose to get their healthy fat oils from supplements, such as fish oil liquid-gel supplements or liquid flaxseed oil. If you do utilize a supplement product as your primary source of healthy fat oils, it is important not to scrimp on quality. Check labels for purity, and never hesitate to seek out customer reviews of any product that you are considering.
